About the Brand
Da Milano is an Indian brand of leather accessories. On wiki it’s rightly explained as the bridge to luxury leather accessories that provides sublimity of a luxury brand at an affordable price. They import the best quality genuine leather from Italy for all their products. The brand was founded by Sahil Malik in 1989 and now has over 60 stores all across India and a few in Dubai and Nepal.
What I like about Da Milano
Quality
I have a couple of Da Milano bags and am extremely happy with their quality and style. My style is more of a minimal chic and I like a good leather bag that does not go tatters in a few months. I cherish the products I buy and prefer using them for years. The first bag I bought from Da Milano was in the year 2014 and it’s still as good as new. It’s a laptop bag in smooth leather in emerald green. It’s an old bag and is no longer available in their collection, however I really like their current collection of laptop bags and sleeves.
Couple of other bags I have that I would like to mention. A duffle bag in beige, a small cross body in tan, and a wallet in chestnut brown colour. I have been using these for a few of years now and love the leather quality in all these bags. Whether it’s smooth leather, croc or pebbled leather. It’s made to last. I am yet to see any mention worthy damage in any of my bags.
I’ve used other brands in the similar price range, while I loved the designs and patterns, and enjoyed carrying these around. Nonetheless, they lost their shape a little too soon and the hardware chipped away after only one or two wears. Now, that’s not something I appreciate when I am paying more than 10 grand (in Indian rupee) for a bag. I’m yet to come across another brand that provides quality at par with Da Milano for similar price range.
Service
On top of good quality the other unique mark of this brand is their service. They guarantee lifetime service for all their products. I’ve used their service multiple times whether to get one of my bags polished or some minor hiccup with a zipper. I’ve come away with a perfect service experience. This is something, I haven’t come across in any other high street brand. I should also commend the customer service at all the stores that I’ve visited over the years.
Where I think the brand can improve
While I love the brand and will cherish the bags I carry for a long time to come. I think, they can focus a little more to make designs more minimal, modern and yet classic. In the era of fast fashion, brands like Zara, Forever 21 and H&M come up with a new style almost every month, their quality is not made to last. When I’m purchasing a product of with a slightly heftier price range compared to fast fashion, I would like the styles to be classic yet trendy. I should be able to take these bags out 10 years from now and still feel it’s not out of fashion.
Conclusion
Overall, I admire the brand and I don’t see them mentioned on social media as much I think they deserve to be. Da Milano is a wonderful mid-range brand that offers impeccable quality and service. I will continue to add more to my collection. You can read more of my style related posts here.
