A white shirt is timeless, classic and never goes out of style. Dress it up or wear it casual, it never lets you down. Aside from being careful while eating (Just me? ;)) A white shirt is a staple in almost everyone’s wardrobe. If you fear that it can become a bit monotonous then you are worried for no reason. Not only a classic it’s also one of the most versatile piece to style. Here’s 5 ways I styled a white shirt from casual to classy or formal –
1. With Denim
This is one of the my favourite outfit options. At work the dress code is casual. I don’t mind wearing jeans to office, it can bring a bit of lazy vibe if I am too casual. A white shirt paired with jeans is a wonderful saviour. It makes you look put together in an instant. Style it with formal shoes or boots and a belt and it’s almost a formal look. 🙂
Dress it down with a relaxed fit shirt and a pair of slides there’s your easy weekend outfit for when you still want to look put together.
2. Paired with trousers
In my head the opposite of denim is a sleek pair of trousers. It doesn’t get more formal for office than a pair of trousers a clean crisp white shirt and a blazer ( or a business suit). For this outfit I am wearing a silk shirt with a beige houndstooth trousers. You can pair it with any colour trouser and I’ll be perfect combo. I even pared with
There’s something special about a white shirt and a navy trousers combo. 🙂
Style it with leather trousers for a contrasting look. Leather has a biker or rocker vibe and a silky white shirt frames the outfit a bit more chic style. I added a pair of beige mules to keep it in my comfort zone 🙂
3. Style with a skirt
Not a big fan of trousers? Pair it with a skirt. A line or a pencil skirt, midi, maxi or mini. Any combo will be a classic combo. Depending on how long you need to stand, wear it with belle flats or heels.
4. With shorts
Did I say it’s one of the most versatile piece? Pair it with shorts for the ultimate casual look. It’s also the perfect cover up for those beach outfits. In this picture I picked an oversized linen shirt and paired with a 90’s style denim short. You can also explore more options with shorts in my post about casual summer pieces.
5. Under a jumper
Don’t like to tuck it in? Keep the a white shirt looks amazing untucked as well! In this picture I paired it with a marino wool jumper from uniqlo. Can’t wait for autumn to wear this combo.
